Future Uncertain for Christians Awaiting Trial

[148] prayers in [9] nations have been posted for Libyan Christian.

Six Libyan Christians and two foreigners have been held in jail since an outbreak of religious persecution that occurred in 2022. The men have never been charged with a crime, but they are believed to be held for “being obedient to God’s Word and sharing it with others in the country,” a front-line worker said. The worker added that the Christians, who are converts, are likely to be charged with apostasy or a more general charge such as contributing to the corruption of society. The Christians’ trial has been set for August 13, 2024.

  • Father, your word says "that if any two of you shall agree on earth as having anything that they shall ask it shall be done for them by my Father which is in heaven". So we agree that "no weapon formed against these shall prosper and every tongue that rises against him shall be shown to be in the wrong. This is his heritage as a servant of the Lord".

  • Father, I thank you, because these have delighted in you and known your name, you deliver them & set them on high. They call on you and you answer them. You're with them in distress. You deliver and honor them. With length of days you satisfy them and cause them to look upon your salvation. Psalm 91:14-16.

  • Father, without knowing the outcome of the August 13th trial, we pray that justice was served and that our Libyan brothers in Christ were completely exonerated of all charges. If that's not the case, and they're still in prison because of these trumped up charges, then give them the courage and boldness to proclaim the gospel to their fellow prisoners.
